Where to get help
- ConnexOntario offers confidential help for gambling problems at no cost, 24/7. Call 1-866-531-2600, text CONNEX to 247247, or chat at connexontario.ca.
- The PlaySmart Centre, run with the Responsible Gambling Council, is in the Fallsview Galleria by Ponte Vecchio, open daily 10 am to 2 am, phone 905-371-0774. Casino Niagara has a PlaySmart area as well.
- The Virtual PlaySmart Centre answers at 1-833-888-2306, daily from 11 am to 7 pm.
- My PlayBreak is OLG's self-exclusion program, with casino terms of 3 or 6 months, or 1 to 5 years, covering every Ontario casino. Enrol through the OLG Support Centre at 1-800-387-0098, with staff on site, or at a PlaySmart Centre.
- In a crisis, 988 is the suicide crisis helpline, open 24/7.
Planning a limit for the weekend
Set the amount of money and the hours for the casino before leaving home, and stop when either runs out. Book the room and the dinner table first, so the weekend has a shape beyond the gaming floor. Bank cards can stay in the hotel room safe, with only the planned cash carried to the floor. Guests must be 19 or older to enter an Ontario casino floor. The same age applies to regulated online gaming.
